Driver's License Suspension / Revocation

Kansas City, Kansas Suspended License Attorney

In the state of Kansas, your license can be suspended or revoked for a repeat DUI or serious traffic violation. Since there are no hardship license provisions in the state of Kansas, you will not be allowed to drive at all for the duration of your license suspension. In some cases, however, the state may decide to reinstate your driver's license after you petition to have it reinstated.

However, in order to have your driver's license reinstated, you will be required to prove that you are ready to drive responsibly. Here, seeking alcohol or drug counseling and enrolling in a driver's education program can increase your chances for having your license reinstated. At the Stone Law Office, we defend and counsel people who have had their driver's license suspended or revoked. Depending on the circumstances of your case, Gary D. Stone may be able to convince the court to reduce the sentence against you or reinstate your license.

If you've been arrested for DUI or on a serious traffic offense, contact criminal defense lawyer Gary D. Stone today to schedule an appointment and discuss your case.

Traffic Offenses and a Suspended Driver's License

The Stone Law Office represents people facing the suspension of their driver's license due to the following:

  • Drunk driving
  • Repeat DUI
  • Hit and run
  • Passing a loading / unloading school bus
  • Excessive speeding
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Driving with a suspended / revoked license

Ignition Interlock Device and Suspended Licenses

In some cases, the court may decide to reinstate or forestall the suspension of a person's license on the condition that they install an ignition interlock device. An ignition interlock device functions like a breathalyzer and attaches to your car. In order for your car to start and continue functioning, you must blow in to the ignition interlock device. If your breath registers less than .02 blood alcohol content, your car will start and will continue functioning as your drive.

Depending on the circumstances of your arrest, Gary D. Stone may be able to convince the court to order the installation of an ignition interlock device in lieu of suspending your license. While you will have to pay for the installation of the device and have it calibrated according to a service schedule, you can at least continue driving as needed.
